DIY homemade coffee scrub

You enter a drugstore and suddenly you’re surrounded by a whole bunch of interesting products with inviting, colorful and shimmering packaging. You slowly take a look at each interesting product, read the ingredients, and the boy waiting for you in front of the store gets angry. Do you know that feeling?

Surrounded by a mass of scrubs and constantly appearing new products, it’s easy to get lost. How about trying the methods of our grandmothers?

Home methods for scrubbing

Personally, as an Italy lover, I love to take a coffee maker out of the cupboard on my day off, grind the coffee beans so that the smell floats all over the apartment and celebrate the ritual of coffee brewing. Not only do I get delicious coffee, but in addition, I get coffee grounds.

Care properties of coffee

Many people don’t realize that besides its taste and stimulating values, coffee has many beneficial skin care properties.

First of all, coffee scrub has an anti-cellulite effect. The reason of this problem is mainly caused by genes. However, because of hormonal changes during adolescence, pregnancy or menopause, it is mainly women who have a problem with cellulite. Usually the biggest worry is its presence on the thighs and buttocks.

Coffee scrub for cellulite?

If some of you were wondering how to get rid of cellulite, then I have good news for you 🙂 A simple scrub made from coffee grounds can become your salvation, or at least it will certainly be very helpful in the eternal struggle to get rid of it.

What is more, anti-cellulite scrub will smooth the skin and  make it soft and silky.  The body will be softer and firmer, the skin will be tighter. You can see the difference after the first treatment, but you should know that the more systematic you are, the better!

What if you want to maximize the effect and don’t have skin problems? Add a little bit of cinnamon. In this way, the scrub will further stimulate your metabolism and blood circulation.

How to make a homemade coffee scrub?

Coffee scrub

Making a peeling with coffee grounds, thanks to which you can peel the whole body, is very simple. In fact, all the necessary ingredients are in your kitchen.

How to make it:

  • Our most important ingredient, of course, is coffee. To make our mixture, we need ground, brewed coffee. The amount depends on whether you intend to make a scrub for the whole body, or just the parts you choose. I suggest using 2 tablespoons of coffee to start with
  • the next step is to add olive oil, coconut oil, or other valuable oil, preferably unrefined. Personally, I add almond oil, with which I usually oil my hair, but it will also be great for making a homemade coffee scrub. If you have ready-made blends or baby oils – feel free to add them. The recommended amount is again 2 tablespoons.

Optionally, you can add a little bit of cinnamon (CAREFULLY!) or to make the scrub even stronger, 1 tablespoon of sugar.

How to use a coffee scrub?

The scrub prepared in this way should be used in the shower or bath. The skin needs to be wet, and the product should be applied circularly on the whole body. Preferably, use the whole product at once, otherwise it will spoil. As for the feet, you can also use it, but in the case of more serious foot problems, the Clevebe foot scrub and massage device will be more appropriate.

Depending on the problem, there are 2 gradations- 100 and 150. You can adjust the intensity to your needs. While performing a coffee scrub in the shower/bath, you can use the Clevebe product to take care of your whole body at the same time. Yep, and you don’t have to get out of the bath and mess up the whole house! In addition, you can do it quickly and effectively while standing or sitting without bending down.

Scrubbing before or after shaving?

Shaving legs before coffee scrub

If you’re going to perform a scrubbing and shave your body at once, it is recommended to do it before rather than after shaving. In this way you will remove dead skin and the razor will slide better on the body. In addition, the hair will be raised, which will make the shaving process much easier. If you scrub after shaving, you can easily get unpleasant and itchy irritation.
